Fin & Feather

Kershaw: You can always look to Kershaw for every day carrying knives that can tame any cardboard box and liberate any purchase from its plastic packaging, sporting knives that make hunting, fishing, watersports, and camping even better, work knives that won’t let you down, and tactical knives that ensure you’re ready for anything.

Buck Knives: Buck Knives has been meticulous when it comes to making high-quality knives since 1964 when Al Buck revolutionized the knife industry with the Model 110 Folding Hunter. The folding “lockblade” knife made Buck a leader, a position still held in today's industry. Their products are also backed up with their Forever Warranty. With a wide variety of styles in stock, we're sure to have one that's right for you.

We also feature an array of blades from Ruko, Columbia River Knife & Tool, Leatherman and Spyderco.

Tips for knife maintenance from Buck Knives:

  • Keep your knife dry; that means the entire knife, not just the blade.
  • Keep your knife clean, particularly moving parts and locking device.
  • Keep your knife oiled; especially pivot points and the blade.
  • Keep your knife sharp; a sharp blade is safer than a dull one.
  • Don’t try to repair a damaged knife yourself.

Yeti Coolers

YETI Coolers are rotational-molded, the same materials and process used to make whitewater kayaks. The process is more costly, but the result is a cooler with a dramatic durability advantage. And a YETI keeps ice longer – a lot longer – with over twice the insulation compared to most ordinary coolers.
YETI Coolers are great for hunting, sport-fishing, camping, boating, rafting, tailgating, paddling, barbecuing, oh, and beer drinking. They're also a bear-proof storage container. Don't believe it? Watch this video:

Bug Spray

If you've ever been through an Iowa summer, you know how important bug spray is. We feature a selection of brands including: Colemans, Ben's Repel, Ultrathon, Bug Soother (local favorite), Simply Soothing and Bug Band. Products both with and without deet are available.

Nalgene: Originally created for use in laboratories, some inspiration from the Boy Scouts encouraged Nalgene to create products for use outside the lab. You can now find just about any size or color of these virtually indestructible bottles you could imagine, available in wide-mouth and narrow-mouth openings, with or without straws. They even make nifty little bottles for your jet-setting toiletry needs. Bonus: they are all BPA-free.

CamelBak: You know those nifty water reservoirs that slip in the back-pouch feature of your hiking or day pack? CamelBak makes those. They also make their own packs for outdoor activities, and optional accessories like neoprene sleeves to keep your water from freezing in the tubing while you're out cross-country skiing. They also make an array of water bottles featuring straws and bite-valves in both stainless steel and BPA-free plastic.

Smith Optics: Based in Sun Valley, Idaho, Smith Optics, Inc. was founded in 1965 with the creation of the first-ever goggle featuring a sealed thermal lens and breathable vent foam. In the early years, founder Dr. Bob Smith, an orthodontist by trade, made goggles by hand using dental tools, foam, and glue. Building on that goggle heritage and extending its expertise, Smith Sport Optics has gone on to set the standard for high-performance eye wear and goggles. We carry several styles of both the sunglasses and goggles. Some frames feature interchangeable lenses, which are ideal for cycling and other events in changing lighting situations. With a strong construction, a lifetime warranty and stylish options, you can't go wrong with a pair of Smiths.

Coyote Eyewear: Coyote brings you polarized sunglasses at a modest price. Lightweight and scratch-resistant, they come in a variety of styles to suit your needs.

Suncloud Optics: Another line featuring polarized lenses and known for their value, Sunclouds are backed by a Lifetime Warranty. Suncloud frames and lenses feature 8 base curvatures, enabling the frame and lenses to wrap on the wearer's face. 8 base frames provide added protection from annoying side glare and environmental elements such as wind, dust and particulate matter.

Spokiz: Spokiz feature polarized polycarbonate lenses, polished aluminum frames with adjustable rubber nose pads and adjustable/interchangeable bands to keep them from being lost during outdoor activities.

I-Gogs: Lightweight, durable, and friendly on the pocketbook, I-Gogs feature an anti-scratch hard coating and a variety of styles.

Suunto: Used by adventure seekers all over the globe, Suunto makes super functional watches with sleek designs. Suunto's watches have a variety of optional features, including but not limited to: GPS, barometer, altimeter & compass. They also make some great accessories for tracking your running or biking workouts.

We also carry sporty watches from Timex, which will provide you with the basics in a durable package and at a friendly price. For the fashionably minded, we have an adorable line of eco-conscious watches from Sprout that use biodegradable corn resin, cork, bamboo and organic cotton.
